Workplace Safety Basics

Every Canadian worker has the right to a safe workplace. This course covers the core safety knowledge every new worker needs — the 9 WHMIS pictograms, supplier and workplace labels, how to read a Safety Data Sheet, when and how to use personal protective equipment (PPE), how to report a hazard, a spill or an incident, proper lifting and ergonomics, what to do in a fire or evacuation, and your rights to know, participate and refuse unsafe work. Examples are from Ontario; the course shows where other provinces' rules are.
