Facebook Community Groups
Facebook groups are one of the best ways for newcomers to connect with their community in Canada. A group is a page where people with something in common can share posts, ask questions, and help each other.
Finding Groups
To find a group, tap the search bar at the top of Facebook. Type words like: - 'Newcomers to Toronto' - 'Arabic community Mississauga' - 'Filipino families in Canada' - 'Free furniture Calgary'
You will see a list of groups. Look at the group name, description, and how many members it has. A group with many members is usually more active.
Joining a Group
When you find a group you like, tap 'Join Group.' Some groups let you join right away. Other groups…
