What Is IELTS?
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is an English test run by three partners: the British Council, IDP IELTS and Cambridge University Press & Assessment.
Two versions: - IELTS Academic: for university study and some professional registration (many nursing regulators, for example, ask for Academic). - IELTS General Training: for immigration and work.
For Canadian immigration and citizenship, IRCC accepts IELTS General Training — not IELTS Academic.
Other tests IRCC accepts: for Express Entry, IRCC accepts three English tests — CELPIP-General, IELTS General Training and PTE Core (accepted since 2024) — and two French tests, TEF Canada and TCF Canada. Your…
