- Use the available prep resources
- Manage exam-day strategy and anxiety
From the lesson
Passing the REx-PN is the final hurdle between completing your RPN bridge and being licensed to work as an RPN. The exam is rigorous; first-time pass rates vary by program and are lower for internationally educated candidates. With the right preparation, most candidates pass on first or second attempt. This lesson covers what it tests, how to prepare, and how to manage the exam day itself.
1. What is REx-PN?
Regulatory Exam — Practical Nurse (REx-PN). The standardized licensing exam administered by NCSBN (the same body that administers NCLEX in the US). Replaced the CPNRE in 2022 in Ontario and BC — the only provinces that use it. Most other provinces still use the CPNRE.
